An induction zone cuts out under a heavy pan. Why?
Almost always cooling, not power. The fan under the glass packs with grease, the electronics reach their limit and the zone drops out to protect itself — worst under a full pot, which is when it is drawing hardest.
One element runs flat out whatever the knob does.
A relay has welded closed in the control. It is not something to live with: pull the breaker for that circuit until someone has been out.
The igniter carries on sparking after the flame is up.
The flame sense side has stopped telling the module it has lit — a dirty or cracked electrode, or a spark module on its way out. Both are same-visit parts.
